Encouraging and positive comments are paramount. They have more power than you may realise. I can remember when I was coming up through the speaking world and the number of people who pushed me and encouraged me to achieve my potential.
They are normally people who you don’t expect to be your mentor. Never underestimate the kindness people have and the willingness to share this kindness in order to help you. Some of my original mentors are still hanging around and I value their input. Who will you encourage this year?
